Today’s CD features five exquisite Piano Sonatas performed by Burt van Oort on fortepiano.
I really don’t have much to say about these pieces other than “FAVORITE!” and “Do yourself a favor and listen to them!”
These are remarkable.
Standout tracks for me: #1, #4, #11 (astounding!).
Performer:
Burt van Oort fortepiano
What I listened to:
Haydn Piano Sonata in B Flat HOB XVI: 41 (composed 1782/1784)
Haydn Piano Sonata in E Flat HOB XVI: 16 (composed before 1766)
Haydn Piano Sonata in B Flat HOB XVI: 2 (composed before 1766)
Haydn Piano Sonata in in B Major HOB XVI: 32 (composed 1776)
Haydn Piano Sonata in A Flat HOB XVI: 46 (composed 1768)
I provided the first performance from a post on YouTube. If you want to hear more, let your fingers do the walking through YouTube Land. I’m sure these are posted there.
Enjoy!
NOTE: As of today, I have just two weeks left in my exploration of the complete works of Haydn. Starting February 28, I begin watching Woody Allen movies.
