Day 135: Here Comes the Sun

HaydnCD135Today’s CD shifts gears again.

Now, I find myself listening to Violin Sonatas Op. 23, which is six sonatas for violin solo and bass accompaniment.

And it’s very hoity-toity, as they say. (“They” being miscreants who couldn’t discern a hoity from a toity if it took a bite out of their arm.)

I like this kind of music….to a point.

It’s gently melodic but not cloying, mid-tempo but not lugubrious. It has an air of distinction about it that I find most agreeable.

Here’s what I listened to this morning – while the sun (gasp!) rose to lift everyone’s winter-weary spirits.
